Lake Oconee Academy Introduces New Head Varsity Basketball Coach

Lake Oconee Academy is pleased to introduce Josiah Rechenbach as the new Head Varsity Basketball Coach for the upcoming school year.

Coach Rechenbach is thrilled to join LOA after several years of coaching throughout the southeast. He brings with him a total of 12 seasons of coaching experience and was the founder/co-founder of three successful travel basketball programs: the Atlanta Raptors, Mississippi Kings, and Tennessee Wizards.

Most recently, he coached at Northbrook Middle School in Suwanee, Georgia. Rechenbach was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he attended Fulton High School, playing for the highly accomplished Coach Jody Wright. He played collegiately for Coach Kevin Hall at Johnson University (Tennessee), where he obtained a degree in Middle School History Education.

Coach Rechenbach has an energized passion for the game, player development, and sound fundamental teaching. He has coached multiple players who went on to play a sport collegiately at all levels. Rechenbach has been married to his wife Aria for eight years, who currently works at the University of Georgia.

He is very interested in the long term development of our players. It will be exciting to see him put this passion to work in reinvigorating boys basketball at LOA. We know that our student-athletes, parents, and community love basketball and will get behind his efforts.”
